Get to Know the Heart Behind the Work
Hi there, I’m Lauren Soutullo!
Embodied Practice is more than a therapy office— it’s a sanctuary for connection and healing. This work is deeply personal to me, and I’m honored to share my heart and passion with others as I support them in their journey.
I value being fully present and maintaining my own authenticity in our work together because I believe healing happens in the context of honest and human connection. Being true to myself as a therapist allows me to create a space where you can do the same. As a recovering perfectionist myself, I often see pieces of my own story mirrored in the lives of those I work with, reminding me of the shared humanity that connects us all.
Outside of the therapy room, I find my grounding in nature. Whether it’s yoga on the beach, a walk through my neighborhood, or simply pausing in the sunlight to take in the world around me, these moments bring me perspective and peace. I view nature as a co-regulator, and often bring up themes of nature in sessions.
I draw inspiration from the words and beliefs of others—whether through poetry, writings, or podcasts—and weave these insights into both my personal life and the work I do with clients. I’m always learning and unlearning, shedding and growing. I will never pretend to have all the answers. I will, however, sit with you in the darkness of the unknown, and, together, we will search for the light.
“To be human in an aching world is to know our dignity and become people who safeguard the dignity of everything around us.”
— Cole Arthur Riley, This Here Flesh: Spirituality, Liberation, and the Stories That Make Us
At Embodied Practice, safety and inclusivity are at the heart of everything I do. I am deeply committed to creating a space where all beings feel seen, valued, and respected.
I warmly welcome clients from black, indigenous, people of color (BIPOC), LGBTQ+, and other historically marginalized communities, striving to uphold affirming and anti-racist practices in all aspects of our work together. Your identity and lived experiences are honored here.
I show up in the therapy room with intention and warmth, meeting you exactly where you are, while holding space for both the challenges and the beauty of your journey.
